Rafting

The scenic Delaware River, a popular spot for rafting, is only a short drive from Camp Deerpark. The river snakes through wooded valleys changing from calm pools to exciting rapids. It is not uncommon to see bald eagles, fish and other wildlife along the river. Rafting is a great afternoon activity for a family, youth group or entire congregation.

Camp Deerpark maintains a fleet of commercial whitewater rafts, life jackets, and paddles for use by up to 36 guests at a time. All participants will be required to sign a Liability Release (click here to download a separate Release Form for Minors). The group leader will need to meet with a camp staff for a brief orientation to the equipment.

Though many guests choose to float the river on their own, some prefer to have a camp staff guide them. A guide will simplify the setup and logistic processes, point out wildlife and local history along the river, and generally give leadership to the experience.

Rafting Fees

Equipment use without a guide: $5 per person
A guided trip: $100 (guide) + $5 per person (equipment use)

Note: Camp Deerpark does not provide transportation for guests to and from the river.
